About the Artist
My name is Laine Gay and I'm an artist working and living in Atlanta, GA. I work mostly as a printmaker and painter. My work explores what it means to live in today’s society as a survivor of sexual violence as well as the obstacles we experience daily. I celebrate femmes by highlighting their healing journey, and to fight the stigma that surrounds sexual violence and trauma, I tell mine and others’ stories of abuse and struggle with mental health. I use bright colors, florals, and figurative elements to show the strength and beauty of the feminine spirit in efforts to help others feel empowered.
